    Dear all,

My name is Sam Hsu. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Real-World Effectiveness and Safety of Therapeutics (CREST), University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, and the co-chair of the 2025 Taiwan Real-World Evidence Symposium (TRWE Symposium). I sincerely invite you to join us for the TRWE Symposium, which we have organized in collaboration with many institutions from both Taiwan and the US, including CREST at UPenn.

This online symposium (US Eastern Time: evenings of July 18–19 and 26) aims to connect talent in the real-world data field from Taiwan and around the world, and to promote the application of real-world evidence (RWE) in healthcare. We are honored to feature two distinguished keynote speakers: Dr. K. Arnold Chan, Senior Vice President of TriNetX (one of the largest data networks in the US), and Dr. Mary Beth Ritchey, Principal and Owner of Med Tech Epi, LLC, and Associate Research Professor at the Rutgers University Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science.

We have also invited leading scholars in the RWE field from both Taiwan and the US, including Professor Yea-Huei Yang Kao and Dr. Sean Hennessy, to deliver opening remarks on the first two days. In addition, speakers-including several ISPE Fellows-from top universities and institutions will share the latest developments and applications of RWE.

The symposium features a rich program:

    • Day 1: RWE career panel with panelists from Vertex, Komodo Health, Amgen, and the University of Utah.
    • Day 2: Fireside chat on the promises and challenges of RWE in healthcare, featuring President Jason C. Hsu of OHDSI Taiwan, President Fei-Yuan Hsiao of TaSPOR, Professor Dareen Toh of Harvard Medical School, and Professor Angie Carlson of the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy.
    • Day 3: Oral presentations by graduate students from TMU, NTU, UMN, and UPenn, as well as online networking activities to help expand professional connections.

Early bird registration ends on July 12. We warmly welcome you to register and participate. We also kindly ask for your help in promoting this symposium to facilitate professional networking between Taiwan and the international pharmacoepidemiology community.
