Hi everyone,
As I mentioned very briefly during the regular SIG meeting in the past, I'm still thinking of developing a symposium proposal for ACPE17 (Symposium submission - Asian Conference on Pharmacoepidemiology, 21-23 November 2025 at The University of Hong Kong), and I'm looking for collaborators who might be interested in joining.
As a continuing effort from the manuscript on CGT just published, I would like to propose that the session will focus on:
"Pharmacoepidemiology for Gene Therapy: Advancing Long-Term Follow-Up Using Real-World Data in Asia and Beyond."
(But I am open to any other suggestions!)
One thing we realized during the manuscript writing was that there wasn't enough shared knowledge or representation from Asia, especially when it comes to regulatory expectations, feasibility, and examples of LTFU, etc. Given how fast the field is growing in this region, it feels like a great time to spotlight Asian experiences-and also to bring in comparisons from other parts of the world. I believe that having the conversation on this topic at the Asian conference also meets the ISPE's strategic planning direction.
I'm hoping to put together a multi-stakeholder panel (maybe 4-5 speakers, max. 6), including academia, regulators, and industry, and a range of Asian and non-Asian perspectives. We'd like to touch on study design, patient engagement, registries, and operational challenges for real-world LTFU. The symposium is 90 minutes.
If this sounds interesting, if you know someone who should be part of this, or if you are interested in being a panelist or recommending someone to be a panelist, I'd love to hear from you! Just drop me a note by mid-May. The submission deadline is June 30, so there's still time to shape the proposal together. The proposal itself is rather short, but it is probably challenging to identify appropriate speakers who can join the meeting and develop a coherent story for the symposium.
I look forward to hearing from you!
