***the same updates have also been sent via emails***

    Dear RWE Collaborative SIG Members,

Hope this email finds you well. Please see below for a number of announcements from the SIG.

    • RWE SIG abstract endorsement: Thanks so much to everyone who voted during the call. Based on the votes, Abstract # 2, "15+ years of ENCePP: what has been achieved, what's next, and what's in for ISPE" led by Arnold Chan and other speakers, is endorsed by the SIG. The SIG encourages the authors of all the other abstracts to proceed with submitting their symposium abstracts to ICPE. Good luck to all groups!

    • Updates from the ISPE RWE SIG Publications and Education working group:
      • The ISPE RWE SIG Publications and Education working group has created the attached templates for manuscript as well as educational activity proposals. SIG members can now utilize these templates to submit proposals to the Publications and Education working group.  Please reach out to Mehmet Burcu (Mehmet.burcu@merck.com) and Marie Bradley (marie.bradley@fda.hhs.gov)  with any questions.

    • Updates from the ISPE RWE SIG Internal collaborations working group:
    1. Judges for RWE Research Proposal Competition:

Please see the announcement and summary for the research competition (attached).  Pertinent timelines are listed below, and we will put out a call for interested reviewers within the next several weeks.

    • Students submit their teams by May 15th
    • Proposals due June 15th
    • Distribute proposals to reviewers by June 20th
    • Reviewers' scores due by July 20th
    • Notify winners August 1st and provide all competitors with their feedback
    • Announce 1st place and runner up teams publicly at ICPE Aug 24-28th
    1. Participants for SISPE Career Panel:

The student council is seeking volunteers from diverse sectors, such as government agencies, CROs, pharmaceutical and device companies, and academia, who are interested in sharing their RWE career journey. The target audience for the discussion would include recent graduates and professionals considering a transition.  Some examples of questions posed to panel participants will include: 1) Could you describe your career journey and key decisions that led you to your current RWE position?, 2) What kind of supervision did you have when you were starting out? And now?, 3) What is the challenging part of your job?

If interested, please contact leads of internal collaborations working group: Lisa Weiss (lisa.s.weiss@gmail.com) and  Cathy Anne Pinto  (cathy.pinto@merck.com) by February 29th.

    • Work Group Meetings: All WGs will soon be kicking off the first meeting with volunteers. Please stay tuned for emails coming from the WG leads. It's not too late to join and please contact the WG leads directly.
