Bio

Gideon Adeniyi had his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biochemistry, specializing in molecular biology and cancer research in Nigeria. He then proceeded to the University of Manchester, United Kingdom (UK) to bag his Master of Public Health Health Degree specializing in Epidemiology. His research experience includes (i) assessment of the toxicity of Benzo (a) pyrene (a class 1 carcinogen) (ii) assessment of the toxicity of heavy metals in popularly used herbs (iii) assessment of the modulatory role of taurine (a nutraceutical) in organ toxicity (iv) adverse effect of chemotherapy such as Chemotherapy-induced cognitive impairment (v) exploring the concept of integrative oncology. His research interests for further studies or industrial experience include pharmaco-, genetic, and environmental epidemiology and chronic diseases like Cancer.

Gideon received a Commonwealth Scholarship from the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Development Organization (FCDO) in 2021 and The Emerging Leaders Fellowship Award at the Young African Leaders Initiative Regional Leadership Centre, Ghana, sponsored by the United States Aid for International Development in 2018.
